GATHERING OF THE GREAT MINDS

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!

MediSZA had sent 27 medical students to attend an event, Gathering of the Great Minds presented by Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya on 20^th December 2014.

The first speaker was Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, currently holding a duty as General Director of Health Malaysia. He said that, ‘’Doctor is a lifetime journey and whatever you learn today as a medical students, will be used in ten years ahead.’’ Each speaker was given about an hour to give a talk. Overall, they were amazing and inspiring in their own unique and intelligence way. Plus, he told us to ask ourselves, why am I here? And why I take up medicine in first place? So that we can align ourselves with passion and do things with sincerity. Listen and respect others. Success comes with hard work!

Second speaker, Tan Sri Dr. Jegathesan Manikavasagam, Deputy President Olympic Council of Malaysia. He had given us many formula of life for medical students and medical doctors. One of them is 4D, direction, dedication, determination, and discipline. Aim for your goals and never stop dreaming! Then you should focus on it and never let it go until you get that. Determination shows how you get up back after you fall or failed. Discipline teach you how to manage our time as medical students which requires a full focus and hard work. The power of mind helps you a lot in achieving on what you concentrate at and be sensitized with opportunity.

Last but not least, our last speaker was Prof Dr. Adeeba Binti Kamarulzaman, Dean Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and Committee member Malaysia AIDS Council. In a first place she said that, ‘’ Believe in yourself, take the opportunity, tackle the obstacles and do not be afraid to fail.’’ You just have to go with the flow passionately, work hard, not be afraid to speak out, and become a good doctor. As long as you have the courage, nothing can beat you. In medicine, without a teamwork, however good you are, you will never get succeed. Team-spirit, this is extremely essential in the medical field as medicine is always about teamwork where a patient may present with a problem that has to be managed by a team of doctors. This requires one to be tolerant and accommodative, with a high EQ and SQ. Do not worry because you will get there and become a medical doctor one fine day.

We had such great and amazing time in discussing an ideas and opinions with such a great people! A long journey from Kuala Terengganu was worth it. There are so many things that we want to share here but, we conclude all of it in a simple words. Hope you guys can be inspired of it and continuously sparkling as a bright medical doctors in future! ANNUAL GRAND MEETING MEDISZA 2013/2014

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. and greetings to all,

Recently, on 14th December 2014, MediSZA had its 5th Annual Grand Meeting (AGM) at Dewan Teater, Kampus Perubatan UniSZA. The conductors of the meeting were Muhammad Fauzan bin Abdul Hamid (Year 3) and Nur Izzati Azyan binti Alimuddin (Year 4)

The meeting lasted for 2 hours, started from 5.00 pm until 7.00 pm. The event started with Muhammad Farid Hafiz bin Mod Ma'asum leading the prayers and duas to ensure a blessed event and later the speeches continued with our former advisers, Prof. Madya Dr. Norizhar bin Kadarman and Dr. Norhasiza binti Mat Jusoh. Critiques and suggestions were also expressed by our respected advisors.

Former secretary of MediSZA 2013/2014 session, Nur Izzati Azyan binti Alimuddin talked about activities planned and successful activities achieved throughout the year.

Former treasurer of MediSZA 2013/2014, Hasnaa' binti Abdul Rahim gave an overview of the financial aspect and MediSZA's account status.

Then, Ahmad Aiman bin Abdul Ghani which was our former YDP gave his speech regarding on overall 2013/2014 session of MediSZA.

Active participation could clearly be seen from our fellow audience who voiced out their opinions, suggestions and comments to the past and new members of MediSZA. We would like to thank for the feedbacks that went smoothly.

The meeting continued with the introductory on the new members and special units of MediSZA 2014/2015 by Muhammad Fauzan bin Abdul Hamid and our new YDP of MediSZA, Muhammad Azwan bin Azizan was called to the floor to give his first official speech as the new YDP of MediSZA 2014/2015.  In addition, Thinnakaraen A/L Chelliah also talked about Society of MMA Medical Students (SMMAMS) and its activities.

Official files and duties concessions were carried out in between former committee members and the new committee members. Next session is followed with photography session.
